Maria Querol Canut, Doctoral Candidate at Servier, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“What a week to be a SHINEDoc at Servier!
Last week was the 7th edition of Seedpods Day, a day entirely dedicated to the PhD and PostDoc researchers of the company.
As part of the Organizing Committee, this was the culmination of many months of hard work, countless meetings, and complex logistics. It was all managed by an amazing team of super SHINEDocs (Ana, Estefania, Fahd, Louise) with the invaluable help of Audrey, Delphine, and Saskia, for which we are very grateful.
Being part of this committee taught me so much about working in a pharmaceutical company and the rigorous processes required to prepare such a major event. It was a true pleasure to see how smoothly the day ran and to feel the collective satisfaction of a job well done.
A big thank you to Louise Kelly and Hanna Vastinsalo for such inspiring keynote talks. They showed us that we are definitely more musical than we think, and that we can even use film to inspire future researchers! It was fascinating to explore different career paths within science and they made me reflect on my future after the PhD.
Besides organizing, this was my first time attending Seedpods. As a first-year PhD student, I presented my very first poster as well as a 3-minute flash talk. It was a real challenge to synthesize my work and present it in front of such a crowd and a jury, but it felt like a vital part of my development as a scientist.
I would like to take a moment to thank my supervisors Hélène Tran, Hélène Aerts and Arnaud François for their help in preparing for this day, as well as my academic supervisor (and member of my doctoral network EFFecT), Aurelie Goyenvalle for coming to spend this wonderful day with us.
To top off this incredible week, we were given the opportunity to have a private lunch with Olivier Laureau, President of Servier. It was such an enriching experience to be able to ask questions directly in such a comfortable and open environment. I am very grateful for that! (Last Picture)
What an inspiring week full of science, networking, fun, and discovery. It was a perfect reminder that a PhD is not just about lab work, but also all the rest!”
