Maria Kfoury, Medical Oncologist at Institut Paoli-Calmettes, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Presenting practice changing studies and standard of care in cervical cancer at the ESMO SUMMIT Latin America in Bogota was such a privilege.
We had a very enriching discussion with David Cantu (Mexico), Juliana Lucía Rodriguez Castillo, Abraham Hernandez (Colombia) and other colleagues on the challenges they face in treating patients with cervical cancer in terms of access to surgical expertise, radiotherapy and brachytherapy, immunotherapy and other innovative drugs.
By increasing access to vaccination, screening and treatment, as per World Health Organization Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative, we strive to decrease disparities and eliminate cervical cancer.
Special thanks to ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology and Acho Hemato Y Onco for this opportunity.
On a personal level.
Because work-life balance matters, I headed to the Amacayaku National Park for a 4-day trek in the Amazonian jungle. We learned so much about the wildlife, the flora, the local communities, and the unique spirit of the Selva. A true ‘into the wild’ adventure.”
