Maria Kavallaris, Founding Director of the Australian Centre for NanoMedicine at the University of New South Wales and Non-Executive Board Director at National Breast Cancer Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Deeply honoured to be recognised by the Cancer Research Center of Marseille (CRCM), which will host a symposium in my honour on 10 April 2026, ‘Smarter therapies, safer futures: nanomedicine for high‑risk childhood cancers’ (also the title of my keynote).
To be invited by such a distinguished centre, and in a city with such a strong scientific and clinical tradition, is immensely meaningful.
What makes this occasion particularly special is the people. I’ll be joined by a stellar group of women in STEM whose work spans precision oncology, nanotechnologies, pharmacology and translational science. These researchers are advancing the field with rigour, ambition and a clear commitment to improving outcomes for children with cancer.
Events like this reinforce what I’ve long believed: impactful science is built through collaboration, mentorship and shared purpose. Seeing so many outstanding women leading innovative research gives me great confidence in the direction our field is heading.
My sincere thanks to the CRCM team for this generous recognition, and to my fellow speakers for the inspiration and excellence you bring. I very much look forward to the discussions, the science, and the collective momentum this community creates.”
