Maria Babak, Associate Professor at City University of Hong Kong, shared on LinkedIn:
“Yesterday I had the privilege of meeting a very inspiring scientist, Prof. Kazuyuki Ishii from the Institute of Industrial Science at the The University of Tokyo!
Prof. Ishii is a well-known expert in photochemistry and metal complexes, but what really inspired me was how he approaches science. He is interested in soooo many different topics and tries to apply his research to solve real-life societal problems. I left feeling truly inspired after meeting such a fantastic scientist.
I also like how he views the PhD studies. He said, ‘If you discover something that professors have not noticed, then you are qualified to get a PhD.’
That really resonates with me. Do you agree?”
