Margaret Foti: Encouraging Our Colleagues in the U.S. to Call on Congress to Fund NIH
Margaret Foti, CEO of the American Association for Cancer Research, shared a post on X by AACR (American Association for Cancer Research), adding:
“The President’s proposal to cut NIH funding by nearly 40% in FY2026 threatens to delay, pause, or cancel studies that advance the prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer. I encourage our colleagues in the U.S. to call on Congress to Fund NIH.”
Quoting AACR’s post:
“Dr. Phuong Ho participates in an NIH-funded study to identify causes of lung cancer in female Asian non-smokers—but proposed cuts to the NIH could delay or cancel studies like these. Please ask Congress to restore NIH investments in cancer research.”
