Marco Davila, Senior Vice President of Translational Medicine at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“One of the most rewarding and important parts of my academic career at the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is training the next generation of researchers.
Graduation time is upon us and a few days ago my masters student Pradumnya defended his University at Buffalo thesis and then I hopped on a plane to fly to Tampa to participate in the University of South Florida commencement with my graduate student (former) and now officially Dr. Payal Goala.
Proud of both of these trainees for what they have accomplished and look forward to them continuing their careers as scientific investigators. Both of them told me how proud their parents were when they saw these graduation photos – and that is something i get to experience in a few days when i attend my next graduation. It won’t be as a thesis mentor but as a proud father of my daughter Lily graduating from Shorecrest Preparatory School!”
