Manushak Avagyan։ SITC Board Approved New Special Interest Group on Perioperative Immunotherapy Safety and Toxicity

Manushak Avagyan, Associate Medical Director at Agenus, shared on LinkedIn:

“Some good news: the SITC Board has approved Peri-IO Safety, a new Special Interest Group on Perioperative Immunotherapy Safety and Toxicity.

As immunotherapy moves into the neoadjuvant setting, we’re treating patients who may already be curable.

The questions change: How do irAEs affect surgical timing?

How do we attribute toxicity when surgery is part of the picture?

What long-term effects should we be watching?

We’re building a community of medical oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, nurses, and drug safety colleagues to work on these together.

Interested in joining, or in helping lead the group as it gets started?

Comment below or message me. SIG membership is open to SITC members, and I’m happy to help with the details.

Thank you, Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) for supporting this!”
