“It was a terrific meeting at ISGIO Congress in Miami this year.
Kudos to Tanios Bekaii-Saab and Eileen O’Reilly for chairing such a thoughtful and energizing program, with great science, candid discussion, and a real sense of community across GI oncology.
However, the highlight for me was to see some of my past and current mentee’s:
- Sunnie Kim
- Kelsey Klute
- Elizabeth Smyth
- John-William Sidhom.
My mentors (Gary Schwartz and David Kelsen) gave me their time and energy, opened doors, and helped me walk through!
I’m reminded that you can’t really adequately payback your mentors, but you can pay it forward!
This was a nice reminder of the legacy we create over a lifetime.”
