“Feeling very grateful to have been nominated for the Inspirational Leader Award at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust
The last year has definitely been a rollercoaster. There have been some fantastic achievements, plenty of challenges, a few grey hairs, and probably far too many meetings… but also a huge amount of teamwork, support, and determination to keep improving things for both patients and staff.
Despite all the pressures facing the NHS, I genuinely believe its greatest asset is its people. I am incredibly lucky to work alongside such skilled, caring, hardworking, and resilient colleagues in Radiotherapy and Oncology every day.
Thank you for embracing some of my more ambitious ideas, for helping drive change, for supporting each other during difficult periods, and for continuing to deliver such high standards of patient care even when things are tough.
I will continue doing my best for our patients, our team, and our department… while trying not to come up with too many new projects at once.”
