Maher Hadaki, Clinical Oncology Consultant at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Returning to NHS practice over the past few weeks has been both familiar and thought-provoking.
Spending time working in a different healthcare system reminded me that while structures, pace, and pressures differ, the moments that matter most are surprisingly similar: sitting in MDTs, weighing uncertainty, and trying to give patients and colleagues clarity in complex situations.
In breast and lung oncology, we often can’t simplify the disease, but we can simplify how options are framed and decisions are shared. When that happens, it’s noticeable. Conversations feel calmer, teams feel more aligned, and patients leave with a clearer sense of direction.
As I re-embed into NHS multidisciplinary working, I’m looking forward to contributing to that kind of clarity and consistency where I can.”
