“A sunnier prospect for research in the US for 2026, thanks to the US Congress – Overall, spending on research and development that is not related to national defence is projected to decline by 3-7%, far less than the 33% cut sought by the Trump administration.
I hope this will go some way towards restoring faith in science as a path for the young generations that are just starting out. The US and global science needs their talent and enthusiasm.”
