“This Friday I’m walking 14 miles across the Seven Hills of Edinburgh with some of the brilliant team at The Drum, raising money for Cancer Research UK (CRUK).
14 miles isn’t something I’d normally volunteer for on a Friday. But some things are bigger than sore feet. I lost my mum to cancer, my dad to asbestosis and more recently, my wonderful sister Christina. Right now I know people going through it who are some of the bravest humans I’ve ever met.
It would be easy to sit back and do nothing. But if brilliant researchers are spending their lives trying to eradicate this disease, the least I can do is walk a few hills (although last year I was so scared of falling from a great height!)
We have to believe that one day there will be a research breakthrough.
I’ll be honest, I find asking for donations incredibly awkward. But this one matters too much to stay quiet about. If you can spare anything at all, the link is below. And if you can’t, a share goes a long way too. At the very least, pray we don’t fall!
