Lung Cancer Europe shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A new AI model called Sybil can predict a person’s risk of developing lung cancer up to 6 years in advance from a single CT scan.
At WCLC2025, researchers showed Sybil worked with minimal bias, even in a predominantly Black population.
This study is important because:
- Lung cancer outcomes remain unequal across communities.
- AI must be validated in diverse, real-world groups to ensure fairness.
- Models like Sybil could help support earlier and more equitable detection.
For LuCE, the message is clear: breakthroughs only matter if people can benefit from them. Timely and equitable access to innovation is vital across Europe.”
