“Last week, on February 26–28, the Second Clinical Oncology Update Congress – ONCOLILI 2026 was held in Cali, Colombia.
The event was endorsed by the Acho Hemato Y Onco and organized by Fundación Valle del Lili and Universidad Icesi, with the active participation of Hematology and Clinical Oncology Fellows from Universidad Icesi.
Over three days, key topics in contemporary oncology practice were addressed:
- Breast cancer
- Adoptive cell therapy
- Gastrointestinal tumors
- Lung cancer
National and international speakers delivered high-level lectures, fostering evidence-based updates and discussion of real-world clinical scenarios.
The congress also featured a poster competition with awards in Oncology Nursing and Clinical Oncology categories, highlighting the importance of research and multidisciplinary collaboration.
A dedicated Q and A panel on the use of immunotherapy in breast cancer provided an engaging forum for clinical cases discussion and decision-making.
On a personal note, I had the valuable opportunity to serve on the organizing committee and to participate in the poster evaluation process.
ONCOLILI 2026 reinforces the importance of continuing medical education, academic collaboration, and strengthening clinical research in our region.”
