Luis Felipe Falla Zuñiga, Surgical Oncology Research Fellow at Mercy Medical Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”I’m excited to share our latest publication, now featured in the latest issue of Gynecologic Oncology Reports.
Sexual health remains one of the most overlooked dimensions of survivorship in ovarian cancer. This study was motivated by a pattern we observed while evaluating quality of life.
Sexual wellbeing was frequently affected but rarely addressed.
Among ovarian cancer patients undergoing CRS and HIPEC, many reported low sexual satisfaction, high pain, and persistent unmet needs, particularly within the first year after treatment. Physical activity, comorbidity burden, and provider support were associated with better outcomes.
Addressing sexual health should be part of how we define quality survivorship. A more proactive, patient-centered approach is needed.
I invite you to read more and explore the visual abstract.”
