Luca Russo: Rethinking Progression in mCRPC With Whole-Body MRI

Luca Russo, Consultant radiologist at Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS, shared on LinkedIn:

“When bone scan says stable and the patient says otherwise, who’s right?

Our paper in European Urology OS: MET-RADS-P on whole-body MRI vs PCWG3 in mCRPC.

  • Moderate agreement overall, limited in bone – and WB-MRI called progression earlier in patients who went on to do worse.
  • Earlier call, earlier treatment change.

Grateful to Nina T., Dow-Mu Koh, Ossian Longoria and the team at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and The Institute of Cancer Research.

To my mentor Evis Sala, for the vision that made this collaboration possible. And to Silvia Bottazzi , Luca D’Erme and Giacomo Avesani – companions on this wonderful ride.”

Evis Sala, Minister of Health and Social Protection of Albania, shared Luca Russo’s post, adding:

“Such a great collaboration with impactful results! Congratulations dream team!”
