“The 120th participant randomised to the OPTIMAL-PSMA trial today. What a marathon!
Comparing dose-intensification then maintenance 177Lu-PSMA-597 to standard of care 6 doses 6 weekly in a randomised trial – same number of doses, same duration of treatment. The trial asks important questions. Does increasing initial dose intensity address radiation resistance with PSMA-RLT? Is it safe? Does it improve patient outcomes? Lets find out.
Enormous thanks to the St Vincent’s Theranostics Department, Sydney and Austin Health Molecular Imaging and therapy, Melbourne teams. Also to St Vincent’s Curran Foundation, The Politis Family, PCF (US), St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney as sponsor and Telix Pharmaceuticals for supporting this investigator initiated trial and providing access to 177LuPSMA-597 therapy to men in Australia – a massive unmet need.”
