Loizos G. Loizou, Head of Cyprus International Action Plan for Children with Cancer at ELPIDA Foundation for Children with Cancer, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“My dear friends,
The struggles for children with cancer continue.
Last Sunday, at the Nicosia Marathon, we ran the Half Marathon together with parents of children and with fellow athletes who are competing next to me for the same purpose.
A month ago, we swam in Limassol with our friend and valuable comrade-in-arms in the fight against cancer, Loukas Fourla, together with the OUK.
We deeply believe in the ultimate victory over childhood cancer.
We are fighting on all fronts — scientific, medical and social — in Cyprus and internationally, where there are needs.
Sports, running and swimming strengthen not only the body but also the soul.
They make us more resilient, more patient and more determined, confident.
The marathon race against cancer in children — and adults — continues.
And I am sure that together we will reach the final victory.”
