“Reducing financial toxicity is critical to improving cancer patient outcomes. Here at the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), we’re committed to advocating for solutions that reduce this burden and ensure patients can focus on healing, not paying for care. ACS CAN’s Survivor Views survey found that nearly half of cancer survivors report being burdened by medical debt, and nearly all had coverage.

ACS CAN urges Congress to prioritize equitable access to affordable, quality health care. We are focused on sharing policy solutions, including capping out-of-pocket costs, ensuring no costs for preventive services, and removing medical debt from credit reports.
