Lisa Lacasse, President of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“As October comes to a close, a few highlights stand out in our continued fight against cancer. We began the month in Arlington at American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN)’s Priorities and Partners meeting, where ACS CAN team members, volunteers, and partners spent three days focused on the policies that shape our mission. From Medicaid, access to care and tobacco control to biomarker testing and cancer screening, we explored critical issues driving our work.
This month, we celebrated an incredible milestone: the MCEDAct becoming the most-supported bill in Congress! The Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act (H.R. 842) would create a pathway for Medicare enrollees to access MCED tests once the tests have been approved by the FDA and clinical benefit is shown.
This week, I joined leaders from partner organizations, all part of the ACS CAN-led One Voice Against Cancer coalition, to take to Capitol Hill and urge Congress to invest in lifesaving cancer research and prevention. We continue to amplifying the patient voice to advance policies that improve outcomes for everyone impacted by cancer.”
