“SPHMMC Launches Integrated Dual Screening for Breast and Cervical Cancer
St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC) has launched Integrated Dual Screening (IDS) for Breast and Cervical Cancer, together with AI-enabled Ultrasound, advanced mammography, advanced Video Colposcopy, LEEP, and stereotactic breast biopsy, bringing modern screening, diagnosis, and treatment together within a one-stop Reproductive Health Center.

Advanced Mammography enhances breast cancer screening and evaluation, supporting earlier identification of suspicious breast lesions.
Stereotactic Breast Biopsy provides image-guided tissue sampling of suspicious breast masses or lesions detected on mammography, enabling accurate diagnosis and timely management.
Advanced Video Colposcopy provides high-resolution visualization of the cervix, supporting accurate assessment, targeted biopsy, diagnosis, documentation, and follow-up of cervical abnormalities.
One-Stop Treatment for Cervical Precancer
For eligible women diagnosed with cervical precancerous lesions, Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) is integrated into the care pathway, allowing diagnosis and treatment to be provided within the same comprehensive service continuum.
The service was visited by H.E. State Minister Firehiwot Abebe and H.E. Sarehala Abdulahi, who appreciated SPHMMC’s innovative initiative to expand access to comprehensive women’s health services.
This integrated approach represents a shift from fragmented services toward prevention, early detection, advanced diagnosis, and timely treatment-bringing comprehensive cancer care closer to Ethiopian women.
