Lazar Stošić, MD, Medical Oncology Resident at University Clinical Centre Niš, PhD Candidate, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I had the privilege of attending the ESO Multidisciplinary Masterclass in Oncology in Athens, Greece, from 19 to 23 June 2026.
Over five days at Hygeia Hospital, the programme covered GI, GU, breast, lung, gynaecological, and sarcoma/rare tumours through lectures, tumour boards, and small group case discussions that demanded active clinical reasoning rather than passive learning.
What distinguished this course was its format: genuine multidisciplinary debate, structured audience participation, and clinical case sessions where participants were expected to defend their reasoning before a faculty drawn from across Europe.
I had the opportunity to present my own clinical case on the management of immune-related adverse events during adjuvant pembrolizumab for renal cell carcinoma, which sparked a rich discussion with the panel.
The workshops on palliative care, medical writing, resilience, and patient communication were equally valuable and a reminder that excellence in oncology extends well beyond treatment decisions.
My sincere thanks to the European School of Oncology for organising such a well structured and meaningful educational experience, and to the course leadership, Florian Lordick, MD, FESMO, Evangelia Razis, Barbara Jereczek-Fossa as well as the entire faculty for an intellectually rigorous and inspiring week.”
