Laurence Buisseret: IMMUcan General Assembly Highlights Breast Cancer Cohorts and Collaboration

Laurence Buisseret, Director of the Medical Oncology Department at Institut Jules Bordet, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“The last General Assembly of IMMUcan has just come to an end. It was a great opportunity to look back at everything the consortium has achieved since 2017, when this ambitious project started with the grant writing phase before officially kicking off in 2019.

I would especially like to thank Christos Sotiriou, who entrusted me with coordinating the breast cohorts for Institut Jules Bordet within IMMUcan. Together, we developed 3 breast cancer cohorts, including more than 800 patients across Europe.

A huge thank you to all the patients who agreed to participate in this project. Without them, research and cancer care could not move forward.

It has truly been a privilege to work with such dedicated colleagues throughout IMMUcan, with a real team spirit built on collaboration, perseverance, brainstorming, and enthusiasm. Special thanks to my friend Marie Morfouace, who played a central role in the breast cohorts over all these years.

I would also like to thank all the colleagues from IJB who contributed to this adventure.

While this chapter is ending, it also feels like the beginning of many new collaborations and projects. I sincerely hope that all these collective efforts will help advance cancer knowledge and improve patient care.”
