Laura Vazquez: New Case Report Highlights Precision Medicine in Pediatric Medulloblastoma

Laura Vazquez, Clinical Research Coordinator at Penn State College of Medicine shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I am excited to share that our case report has been published in Frontiers-Oncology!

This work focuses on the use of precision medicine to identify treatment options for a pediatric cancer patient who had exhausted standard-of-care therapies. I first became involved in this project during my 2023 summer research internship, and I am grateful to have stayed involved through the writing, revision, and publication process as first author.

Thank you so much to my co-authors and mentors for their guidance, collaboration, and support throughout this project.”

Giselle Sholler, Division Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT at Penn State Health, added:

“So proud of our team – especially Laura Vazquez our summer research intern who has published her first ‘first author’ publication with the support of our incredible team who have mentored and supported her!

Most importantly this work provides hope in precision medicine and options for children with cancer through Beat Childhood Cancer Research Consortium at Penn State College of Medicine, Beat Childhood Cancer Foundation.”
