Laura Ortiz-Ravick, Director of National Outreach and Health Equity Partnerships at The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, shared a post by LinkedIn, adding:
on”Last week, my colleague Charoh Ortiz and I had the privilege of leading a session at CancerCon on the vital role of community engagement in reaching diverse AYA populations.
It was an inspiring and deeply meaningful experience, and we are truly grateful to Stupid Cancer for the opportunity to contribute to this important conversation. Thank you, Tricia Hernandez, for the invitation to participate!”
Quoting Charoh Ortiz’s post:
”If there’s something I’m passionate about, it’s community outreach.
This week, my colleague Laura OrtizRavick and I had the opportunity to represent The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at CancerCon in Washington, DC. We both presented on the strategies we use at LLS to reach underrepresented communities nationwide. I even got to share a couple of extra tips that have helped me over the years to strengthen my bond with the communities I serve.
As always, events like these provide an opportunity to connect with exceptional individuals and learn from one another.
Thank you to all who attended our workshop. It was a pleasure to spend time with like-minded individuals who seek to serve communities to the best of their abilities.”
