Laura Esserman, Principal Investigator at The WISDOM Study, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“There is concern that there isn’t enough attention to reducing the frequency of screening for those at lower risk in The WISDOM Study.
In fact, the data from the WISDOM study was really necessary to help provide women with the confidence that the risk of breast cancer is substantially lower in the average and low-risk groups. This will go a long way to helping reassure women that less screening is safe. That certainly was a big goal of the WISDOM study and will be an important part of WISOMD 2.0 now that we have this data.”
