Laura Esfeller on How Cancer Research Saved Her Life and Her Experience as a Patient Advocate

Laura Esfeller, Director of Marketing at Morongo Casino Resort and Spa, shared on X:

“Honored to serve our incredible SWOG Cancer Research Network GU Oncology committee with my fellow patient advocates, Darrell and Joël.

It’s empowering to use our lived experience to help create clinical trials for our fellow patients.

Years ago, it was Peggy Zuckerman who was my voice when PAPMET S1500 was created.

I’m humbly grateful that brilliant study team led by Sumanta K. Pal not only saved my life with this research, but that it led to a CR that allows me to give back.

Thank you to The Hope Foundation for Cancer Research for making it possible for patients to participate in research advocacy!”
