Lacy Hubbard, Founding President and CEO of Elekta Foundation, shared on LinkedIn:
“A big milestone for Mission 2027 in Rwanda!
With Gatsibo, half of Rwanda has now reached 70% of its screening target.
An earlier phase screened almost 21,000 women. The latest campaign screened nearly 31,000 more. Gatsibo District has now reached the HPV screening coverage target.
But screening is only the beginning. What saves lives is completing the pathway to care.
Now the focus is ensuring every woman who tests HPV positive gets the follow-up she needs. With three weeks left, we’re on track to reach our 90% follow-up target.
Rwanda Biomedical Centre’s leadership remains strong as always, and the local leaders in Gatsibo did a fantastic job mobilizing women to come forward. Of course, the project teams are nothing short of outstanding. I’m so proud of what we are achieving together.
Next up: Musanze and Burera.
The second half of Rwanda, here we come.”
