Lacy Hubbard: Two Countries, Same Day, One Mission in Cancer Screening

Lacy Hubbard, President and CEO of Elekta Foundation, recognized among the 100 Most Influential CEOs in Oncology in 2025, shared a post on LinkedIn:

Two countries. Same day. One mission.

Today is a special day, as two screening programs go live across Africa and South Asia on the same day.

In Rwanda, together with the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) and Partners In Health, we are returning to Kayonza District to complete cervical and breast screening for the remaining 18,000 women.

This will mark Kayonza as the 11th district to reach the 70% screening target and move one step closer to Mission 2027, aiming to achieve Cervical Cancer Elimination three years ahead of the global target.

In Bangladesh, after months of intensive preparation, we are launching a pilot to screen 20,000 women, in partnership with Grameen Kalyan, and the Oncology Club and Global Health Catalysts.

This first HPV-based screening program will serve as a blueprint for the Cervical Cancer Screening in the country. It reminds me of how we started in Rwanda four years ago, and I look forward to seeing this grow into something bigger over time.

Different contexts. One shared goal.

At Elekta Foundation, we strive to turn ambition into action and ensure women have access to life-saving cancer screening and prevention at scale.

Behind every number is a woman, a family, and a future protected.”
