Kunal Sharma, Vice President and Head-Integrated Onco-Pathology at Agilus Diagnostics, shared on LinkedIn:
Very happy to share this episode of Lab Insights – Leaders in conversation, where I share my perspective on the role of Digital Pathology and Artificial Intelligence in today’s era with Dr. Rishubh Gupta – Roche Diagnostics, India and neighbouring markets.
We discuss how digitisation has helped break geographical barriers and made second opinion and expert consults seamless and much faster, obliviating the need for blocks to travel across labs or undergo repeated processing.
We also talk about how AI powered algorithms are making reporting extremely objective and accurate and are more of an assistive tool rather than a competition. We then embark upon different practical challenges in implementing digitisation and how to mitigate them to accept the inevitable future of standardised ecosystem where digitisation and AI assisted tools are used as a norm for faster, more objective, accurate and personalised reporting.
