Kunal Sharma: Academic Exchange on CGP and Molecular Testing at International Oncology Meetings

Kunal Sharma, Vice President and Head-Integrated Onco-Pathology at Agilus Diagnostics, shared on LinkedIn:

“It was an absolute honour and academic privilege to be invited as an expert in preconference workshop of Masterclass Forum on Breast Cancer Management and also for APAC Oncology Summit on Genitourinary cancers in Singapore and to participate and meet some close friends and colleagues in ESMO Asia 2025.

We had engaging case discussions of how CGP and molecular testing has remarkably changed the landscape of management and patient outcomes in these tumors and also what lies ahead in near and distant future practices in comprehensive molecular testing.

Got to meet one of my life mentors, Dr. Paresh Jain, who has taught me lessons from time to time about many things including all the nuances of use of flowcytometry in hematolymohoid neoplams which gave me a comprehensive approach even though I see more of lymph node biopsies and other solid tumors and also in learning, navigating and growing in corporate. So grateful to have his guidance and calming energies in my voluminous fast paced professional world.

Was an international homecoming while visiting our Singapore corporate office of IHH with fruitful and futuristic discussions with Ashok Pandit sir, Prof Dr Ibrahim Unsal and Pauline Puay, leaders whose leadership has and continues to steer us, cementing our role as one of the best and most committed healthcare providers in the world. Thanks to Ethan Wu for organising everything so seamlessly.

Also was very impressed to see all the good work our fellow colleagues are doing at Parkway Laboratories from clinical pathology to Anatomic pathology and molecular assays and digital pathology highlighting how we work in a synchronised ecosystem where each network institute delivers the best healthcare services in their geography while collaborating across borders in a fashion that we all move together on our path of excellence.

Always a wonderful feeling meeting Ana Richelia Lazaro, Marlene Thomas and the inspiring Dr. Shaheenah Dawood while I could also manage to catch up on phone with our champion oncologists Dr Nitesh Rohatgi and Dr Ankur Bahl and discuss our mutual engagements.

Also special thanks to Dr. Salil Vaniawala, Roshini Iyer, Nitin Wadhwa , Dr. Vamshi Krishna Thamtam and Amrit Patel for making my stay so wonderful with their company, care and camaraderie and for helping me squeeze out sometime to see some parts of this beautiful country.”
