Kristin Torre Vinuesa, CFO, Managing Director at mbiomics GmbH, shared on LinkedIn:
”ESMO is one of the world’s leading oncology congresses, where the latest clinical data shapes how cancer is treated.
It’s where we hear first-hand from the oncologists caring for the patients we aim to help.
Three things stood out to me at ESMO 2026 last week:
- Toxicity is a major problem. Many therapies come at a high cost for patients. Adding efficacy without adding toxicity is precisely what our microbiome-based co-therapy for immunotherapy is designed to do.
- The pace is extraordinary. The number of ongoing trials is a sign of a field in rapid motion, and of how much competition and collaboration lie ahead.
- The need is still enormous. Recurrence, metastasis and cancer deaths remain far too common, despite every advance.
ESMO reinforced my conviction that the microbiome is a promising, and still underused, lever to make immunotherapy work for more patients.”
