As a brain cancer advocate and co-founder of the Mark Hughes Foundation, Kirralee has strengthened support for people affected by brain cancer. This includes establishing care coordination services for patients and families in regional and rural areas. Her leadership has also helped the Foundation raise more than $30 million for brain cancer research.
The Hon Mark Butler MP, Minister for Health and Ageing, presented the 2026 Jeannie Ferris Awards to Kirralee and Dr Andrea Garrett at Australian Parliament House, as part of a celebration marking 20 years of national leadership in cancer control.
