Kimryn Rathmell, Chief Executive Officer of Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, shared on LinkedIn:
“It is an absolute honor to be the inaugural recipient of the Jeri B. Block and Robert H. Schottenstein Distinguished Chair in Cancer.
This is a gift that will continue to power what we can do at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute today, while expanding what is possible tomorrow. I am so grateful to both Jeri and Bobby for their contribution to this monumental piece of history for our organization, and for their steadfast dedication to our mission.
As the largest chair in Ohio State history, it will allow us to be even more innovative in our approach to cancer research. With that in mind, we will be able to move faster towards real impact for our patients through new discoveries.
Thanks to the leadership and support of The Ohio State University President Ravi Bellamkonda, The Ohio State University Medical Center CEO John Warner, and The Ohio State University Provost Trevor Brown, the event was both memorable and fitting for the significance of the occasion.
I also want to thank everyone who made this event possible. It was truly a beautiful and incredibly moving experience. Having a community behind us that supports our mission is part of what makes being at the OSUCCC – James so special.”
