Kimryn Rathmell, Chief Executive Officer of Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“For the past few weeks, I’ve been overwhelmed by posts here from people across Ohio and the nation sharing their plans to ride in Pelotonia.
This community-based effort reflects the ground truth that we are all in it together to End Cancer. 100% of funds raised goes directly to support research that demonstrates our Curiosity, Impact, Reach, and Commitment to Learning.
I was thrilled to take a Mothers Day ride with Jeffrey Rathmell to downtown Columbus.
This year I’ll be riding with my family – kids coming up from North Carolina – in the 17-mile ride through campus. I’ll also be doing Gravel Day in October! We’re riding because our entire family has been touched by cancer when we lost my mother a few years ago, and because we are all committed to a future that knows a Cancer Free World.
This kind of effort would not be possible without community support at all levels – from individuals who ride in honor of a loved one, to corporations that fuel support in so many ways. This photo includes Huntington National Bank in the background because they are a prime example – encouraging ridership, fellowship, and substantial support – having raised over $50M for cancer research in total.
Join us all in riding in Pelotonia, or support my ride or that of one of your neighbors. Early bird registration ends on May 20!
See you on the road!”
