“This past weekend, I met with my mentees who are all undergraduate medical and pharmacy students currently enrolled in a research mentorship program at the UM6P SHCC – Faculty of Medical Sciences and UM6P Hospitals. They are all working on research projects with innovative ideas aimed at answering scientific questions relevant to local contexts and cultivate the mindst of research earlier in their career.
Each of them is expected to publish at least one original paper before defending their MD or PharmD thesis. Some are already making excellent progress and are on track to publish significant findings next year.
Mentorship is key – it helps shape healthcare professionals with the mindset of clinical scientists. This is an urgent need in all countries striving to strengthen their healthcare systems.”
