“Recently, I had the pleasure of being interviewed for an OncNow podcast on behalf of the European Medical Journal. During the episode, which was edited by Dr Helena Bradbury, I spoke with Dr Catherine Glass about my career in oncology with specific focus on head and neck cancers, oncolytic viruses and immunotherapy.
In a wide-ranging and relaxed conversation, which covered topics across the 30+-year span of my career, we focussed on past successes and failures (far too many of those) and looked forward to future opportunities to improve outcomes for patients with cancer. Importantly, I had a chance to acknowledge some of the individuals who have played key roles in mentoring me and collaborating with me throughout my career.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially when Catherine granted me 3 hypothetical wishes with which I could alter the course of my career and/or medical practice. For those who do not want to plough through the whole discussion, that part comes in the last few minutes.”
