Kenny Kahn: A Positive Experience at the CancerX Accelerator Graduation at The Pearl CLT

Kenny Kahn, Founder and Board Chair of Musicland Gift Foundation, Member of Atrium Health Foundation Board of Directors, Member Atrium Health Levine Cancer Advisory Board, Founder Black Label Advisory, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“What a relentlessly positive experience at yesterday’s CancerX Accelerator Graduation at The Pearl CLT.

Entrepreneurs, oncology leaders, investors, industry, government, and, most importantly, patients came together to celebrate this year’s cohort and the progress being made across the cancer ecosystem.

What struck me most was the remarkable innovation on display, and the shared sense of purpose.

Real conversations about cancer are often raw, sometimes funny, and always heartfelt. They happen around kitchen tables, with loving and scared families, and in very private spaces. Today was a reminder that meaningful innovation starts with listening to those stories.

Hearing from leaders like Ruben Mesa, MD and Rasu Shrestha MD MBA reinforced what’s possible when clinical care, innovation, and research come together in service of patients. And Mellisa Wheeler continues to be a powerful voice for ensuring that progress is measured by the impact it has on patients and families.

I left with something that can be hard to find these days: genuine optimism. Not because the challenge of cancer is getting smaller, but because the community committed to solving it is getting stronger.

Today gave me hope, real hope, that cancer care will continue to improve dramatically in the years ahead.”
