Kenyan Network of Cancer Organizations shared a post on LinkedIn:
“KENCO, with the support of AstraZeneca, continues to implement the Building Community Capacity for Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Project by training Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in Kajiado County.
By equipping CHPs with the knowledge and skills needed to promote cancer awareness, encourage early health-seeking behavior, and facilitate access to screening and referral services, the project aims to reduce late-stage cancer diagnoses and improve cancer outcomes within communities. This initiative supports national efforts to strengthen community health systems and enhance cancer prevention and control at the grassroots level.
We applaud the participants’ commitment and look forward to the positive impact this training will have on communities across Kajiado County. By strengthening community capacity, more people will have access to timely information, early detection services, and appropriate referral pathways, leading to better cancer outcomes and healthier communities.”
