Katy Beckermann: Join Us on Bladder Cancer Awareness Month at the Nashville BCAN Walk

Katy Beckermann, Medical Director of GU Clinical Research at Tennessee Oncology, shared a post on LinkedIn:

May is Bladder Cancer Awareness Month.

This Saturday, May 2nd, I’ll be walking with Team ‘May the Force Be GU at the BCAN Walk in Nashville, and I hope you can join us.

McCabe Park. Registration opens at 9 am. One-mile walk at 10 am.

Bladder cancer is the 4th most common cancer in men in the United States. It is one of the most underfunded cancers relative to its incidence, and it carries one of the highest recurrence rates of any malignancy. Behind every statistic is a patient navigating diagnosis, treatment, and uncertainty, often alongside a caregiver who is carrying just as much.

This walk exists for them. And it exists to fund the research that changes what we can offer them.

If you are in Nashville, come walk with us. Bring your family, your colleagues, your neighbors. If you cannot be there in person, a donation of any size goes directly toward patient support programs and bladder cancer research.

Join our team or donate here.

Thank you to Tennessee Oncology, The GHCR, UA of Nashville, Tom Jayram, Beth Schiftan, and William French for standing with our patients and their caregivers.”
