Kathryn Paige Harden, Professor at The University of Texas at Austin, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I wrote 8 unsuccessful R01 proposals before finally getting one as a PI. I finally wrote a successful proposal only because Alex Burt coached me through writing it. I would send her drafts of various pieces, and she would tell me how to make them less boring and less confusing. I ended up with a bunch of documents named things like ‘Specific Aims-Alex Approved‘ and then my proposal got funded! Which honestly felt like a gosh-darn miracle. I’ve been continually R01-funded since then.
Now Alex is offering a workshop on how to write NIH grants. Send your junior faculty, send yourself-this woman’s advice changed my career!”
