“I am pleased to announce UT MD Anderson’s 2026 class of ECHO Scholars.
These nine outstanding experts have been selected to receive up to $200,000 over two years to advance innovative projects designed to improve cancer outcomes across Texas through the Project ECHO model.
Built on a proven tele-mentoring and case-based learning framework, Project ECHO connects specialists with healthcare providers in communities where access to specialty care is limited. By expanding knowledge, strengthening local expertise, and fostering sustainable networks of collaboration, the program helps improve cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in some of Texas’ most underserved populations.
The 2026 ECHO Scholars include UT MD Anderson faculty and administrative leaders who have demonstrated excellence in their fields and developed impactful programs designed to advance health equity across the state. Their projects were selected through a rigorous review process conducted by a multidisciplinary committee and reflect the core objectives of the ECHO Scholars Program.
Our team is deeply grateful for the opportunity to advance this important program through the generosity of an anonymous philanthropic donor. And we are confident that the work of these scholars will create lasting benefits for communities across Texas and bring us one step closer to our mission to end cancer.
