Karin Shanahan, EVP, Chief Supply Chain and Operations Officer at Bristol Myers Squibb, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Earlier this week I spent part of the afternoon with colleagues at our Devens, MA site, painting river rocks. It is one of the ways our Devens team marks Global Patient Week every year. Each rock carries a message of encouragement, and on Friday they will be placed along the nature trail on campus for colleagues to find during the site’s Wellness Walks.
Global Patient Week exists to tangibly connect us to the patient waiting for a medicine that our sites across Product Development Supply (PDS) make possible every day. A painted rock on a trail is a reminder that sits there long after Global Patient Week.
This week also marked the close of the U.S. segment of Coast to Coast for Cancer, our annual cycling journey in which colleagues ride to raise money for cancer research. Many rode for someone they have lost or someone still fighting. That is what a patient-centered culture looks like when it moves from intention to action.
My thanks to the Devens team for including me in their annual tradition, and to every colleague who showed up this week with a paintbrush or a bike.”
