Karen Saltser Shares Her Breast Cancer Experience and Encourages Participation in Tech in Pink 2026

Karen Saltser, Chief Executive Officer of Bloomberg Media, shared on LinkedIn:

“Thank you to Revenue Room CXO for an unforgettable time at the Yale Club last week.

Heather Holst-Knudsen has put together quite a community, and I thoroughly enjoyed sharing the CEO Roundtable stage with Debi Chirichella of Hearst Magazines, Stephanie Mehta of Mansueto Ventures and Jessica Sibley of TIME.

The conversation on leadership and navigating the opportunities for new innovation in our industry was candid and inspiring.

I was also deeply honored to receive the CEO Vanguard Award.

On a personal note: one of the The Breast Cancer Research Foundation leaders spoke before me, which inspired me to ditch my notes and shift my acceptance speech on the fly.

As I’ve talked about in the past, I shared with the room that I was diagnosed with breast cancer just weeks after being named Bloomberg Media CEO.

I’m so grateful to be healthy now, and this journey has taught me a great deal about resilience and leadership.

I reminded people to step into the discomfort, ask for what you want and lean on others – both inside and outside of the office (in sickness and in health).

I’m grateful to my family and my Bloomberg colleagues for the support and the career and the life they’ve helped me build.

To up-and-coming leaders: be ambitious, be generous, bring data and stay curious.

Thank you again to The Revenue Room.

And remember to wear pink and join Tech in Pink 2026 to support breast cancer research.”
