Karen Canfell Highlights a Decade of Progress in Cervical Cancer Control

Karen Canfell, Lead, CEC and Professor of Public Health at The Cancer Elimination Collaboration (CEC), Sydney School of Public Health, University of Sydney, shared on LinkedIn:

“At The Cancer Elimination Collaboration (CEC), Sydney School of Public Health, University of Sydney, we were excited to host a recent meeting of C4 – the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Cervical Cancer Control.

C4 brings together Australia’s leaders in cervical cancer control, in HPV vaccination, cervical screening and treatment. We are coming into our tenth year and have around 120 members and affiliates.

Our core activities include:

  • Progressing research – it was so exciting to see the many reports of new research, especially from our Emerging Research Leaders, which have been enabled by C4 seed funding!
  • Our annual surveillance report on Australia’s progress towards elimination.
  • Our workshops, seminars and meetings.
  • The Eliminating Cervical Cancer (ECC) conference, to be held in Melbourne in November!

Thanks especially to all the other C4 Investigators and Collaborating Institutions and to Amy Pagotto for running the Secretariat!”
