Karen Canfell, Lead of Cancer Elimination Collaboration (CEC) at the University of Sydney, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Every year, tens of thousands of women in the Indo-Pacific face a disease that’s preventable and controllable: cervical cancer.
Thanks to a new $13.1 million commitment from the Minderoo Foundation, alongside support from the Australian Government, we are taking a new transformational step towards changing this picture, through the expansion of EPICC: the Elimination Partnership in the Indo-Pacific for Cervical Cancer.
We’ve seen first-hand how sustainable, locally-led HPV vaccination, screening and treatment programs give communities hope and save lives.
This work isn’t just about research; it’s about real people, families, and futures.
I’m inspired daily by the dedication of leaders and teams across the region, and deeply grateful for the generosity that makes this work possible.
Together, we can create a world where no woman dies from cervical cancer.”
