Kamal S. Saini, Executive Medical Director and Head of European Oncology Team at Fortrea, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Does alcohol increase risk of breast cancer? Is it safe to have “only” a few drinks occasionally?
Our large meta-analysis of 2.5 million women, lead by Luca Arecco, Pedro Cacilhas, Matteo Lambertini and Evandro de Azambuja analysed 37 studies. We found a clear dose–response association between alcohol consumption and increased breast cancer risk, with even low-to-moderate intake linked to higher incidence. These findings reinforce the importance of lifestyle counseling in prevention and survivorship care.
