Juha Pekka Turunen, President of Association of European Cancer Leagues, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The Nordic Cancer Union (NCU) has this morning sent an open letter to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, demanding that the EU’s Tobacco Products Directive be updated.
Updating the EU Tobacco Products Directive is necessary to achieve the EU’s health policy objectives. The use of nicotine by young people is increasing rapidly with the introduction of new products. The current regulation has lagged behind product development, and all nicotine products must be brought under uniform and comprehensive EU regulation. The EU must set a minimum level, not an upper limit, for the protection of public health.
