Juan Manuel O´Connor, Head of Department at Instituto Alexander Fleming, shared on LinkedIn:
“ESMO 2026 | A Meaningful Milestone and a Moment of Gratitude
It was a great honor and privilege to participate as an invited speaker in the Neuroendocrine Tumors Track at ESMO Congress 2026 in Madrid, Europe’s largest medical oncology congress and one of the world’s leading scientific meetings, bringing together more than 40,000 participants.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to IAF (Instituto Alexander Fleming), Cancer Foundation – FUCA, where I have developed much of my professional career, and to the mentors who played a fundamental role in my medical and personal development, particularly Dr. Reinaldo Chacón and Dr. Enrique Roca, among many others. Their guidance, dedication, and values have had a lasting influence on the way I understand and practice oncology.
I feel incredibly proud and fortunate to work alongside such an outstanding team, sharing not only professional achievements but also the values, challenges, and passion that bring us together every day.
I also hope this experience can serve as a source of inspiration for younger generations of oncologists, particularly those from Argentina and Latin America.
My sincere thaks ESMO, and Scientific and Organizing Committees, Enrique Grande, Jaume Capdevila for the kind invitation and the opportunity to contribute to such an inspiring international scientific meeting.
Every milestone is not only an achievement, but also the beginning of a new journey…”
