Juan Manuel O´Connor, Head of Gastrointestinal Tumors Department at the Alexander Fleming Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“It was a great pleasure and honor to participate as a discussant in the Mini Oral Sessions at ESMO GI 2026, together with Florence Huguet.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an important meeting, not only because of its outstanding scientific content, but also because of what it represents for the GI oncology community in Latin America.
Meetings like ESMO GI are essential spaces to learn, exchange ideas, and discuss new evidence. But they are also much more than that: they are an opportunity to share meaningful moments with colleagues, friends, and mentors from different parts of the world.
I also had the privilege of participating in the Educational Session on Neuroendocrine Tumors alongside Marianne Pavel, an inspiring colleague and one of the most recognized international experts in this field, whose long-standing contribution to NETs continues to be a true reference for all of us working in this area.
Thank you to ESMO GI 2026 for the invitation and for continuing to create a space where science, education, and friendship come together.
Proud to contribute from Latin America to this global GI oncology community.”
